Scanner Setup Guide

Follow these steps to use the ticket scanner

Step 1: Use Your Phone's Native Camera

📱 Use Your Phone's Regular Camera App

Simply open your phone's camera (the app you use for photos) and point it at the ticket QR code. Your camera will automatically detect it!

🎯 How it works:

  1. Open your phone's native camera app (iPhone Camera, Android Camera, etc.)
  2. Point it at the ticket QR code
  3. A notification will pop up with a website link
  4. Tap the notification to open the ticket validation page
  5. The ticket will automatically be validated!

💡 No app installation or browser permissions needed!

Works on all devices:

  • iPhone: Use the built-in Camera app
  • Android: Use the built-in Camera app or Google Lens
  • Any phone: QR code scanners work with any modern smartphone camera

Step 2: Scanning the Ticket

Open Your Camera App

Use your phone's built-in camera (the same one you use for taking photos)

Point at the QR Code

Aim your camera at the ticket's QR code - just like taking a photo

Tap the Notification

A notification will appear at the top - tap it to open the validation link

Automatic Validation

The website will open and automatically validate the ticket - you're done!

🎯 What happens after scanning:

  • Website opens automatically in your browser
  • Ticket is validated instantly
  • You'll see a green ✅ for valid tickets or red ❌ for invalid/used tickets
  • Attendee details are displayed for verification

Troubleshooting

Camera not detecting QR code:

  • Make sure the QR code is well-lit and in focus
  • Hold your phone steady and at a comfortable distance
  • Try moving closer or further from the QR code
  • Ensure the entire QR code is visible in your camera view

No notification appears:

  • Check if QR code scanning is enabled in your camera settings
  • Try using a different QR code scanner app
  • Use the manual entry method instead (see below)

QR code is damaged or unclear:

  • Ask the attendee to increase screen brightness
  • Try the barcode on the ticket instead
  • Use manual entry with the ticket code
  • Look up the ticket by email in the admin panel

Alternative: Manual Entry

If camera scanning doesn't work, you can always use Manual Entry:

  1. Scroll down to the "Manual Entry" section
  2. Ask the ticket holder for their ticket code
  3. Type the code in the input field
  4. Tap "Validate Ticket"
