About PWA Toronto

For over 40 years, we've been a beacon of hope and support for people living with HIV/AIDS and affected communities in Toronto.

Our Mission

To provide support, resources, and advocacy for people living with HIV/AIDS, helping them live with dignity, independence, and hope while working to eliminate stigma and discrimination.

Our Vision

A world where people living with HIV/AIDS are valued, respected, and supported to live full, healthy lives free from stigma and discrimination.

Our Story

Founded in 1983 during the early days of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, PWA Toronto was created by and for people living with HIV/AIDS. We emerged from a community that faced unprecedented challenges, stigma, and loss, but also demonstrated remarkable resilience, solidarity, and hope.

What began as a small group of individuals supporting each other has grown into one of Canada's most comprehensive AIDS service organizations. We've remained true to our community-led roots while expanding our services to meet evolving needs.
